Attending our weekly classes is a great way to benefit from the support and nourishment of a creative community. 

OPEN STUDIO
Guided time to work on unfinished projects or create something new within your skillset.
Tuition includes access to the studio with support fro
m Christina. Students are responsible for their own projects and materials.
Contact Christina prior to class if you would like to map out what you'll need. 
This studio is limited to former students who have taken beginning jewelry. 

Saturdays, April 20 - May 11, 2024

BEGINNING JEWELRY 

Our beginning class is focused on building a strong introductory skill set for jewelry making. You will jump right into soldering, sawing, texturing and forming metal. Leave knowledgeable about technique and how to problem solve through difficulties.

Projects are in copper and brass. Students can purchase silver as desired.

INTERMEDIATE JEWELRY 
These two, four-week sessions are created to inspire student-driven design and enhance skill sets. Perfect for the student who has experience with basic skills and is ready to try something harder. You will learn to successfully combine techniques into pieces that require multiple soldering operations, forethought, and planning.

Projects are in copper and brass. Students are encouraged to purchase silver as desired. 

 

Level One 
Fabrication of settings for cabochons, surface treatments including embossing metal, hammering, stamping, patination and soldered accents.

Level Two - FULL
Fabrication of settings for faceted stones, hallow forms, and working with jigs for wire designs.

ADVANCED JEWELRY
Created for those who want to work conceptually, this class slows things down and works on crafting designs that tell a story. Expect to spend as much time gathering inspiration and exploring the properties of the material as constructing your finished piece(s).  Each class consists of exercises on creativity, guided planning sessions and project fabrication.

summer stack concentrations

This summer we're building a ring stack using many different techniques. Join us for one, a few or all of these Saturday workshops.
 

CARVE AND CAST 

Carving a wax allows you to get more creative with curvy shapes and interesting reliefs. The first session is carving and the second session will be spent casting your pieces in metal. This is a great opportunity to gather together scrap silver and/or gold to use for the pour.

ETERNITY BANDS

Prong set an 11 stone eternity band in just two classes. This dainty ring (2.5mm stones) adds intrigue to any stack you create.

BEZEL SET ROSE CUT IN GOLD FILLED

Learn the ins and outs of fabricating in gold filled materials through the creation of a sweet rose cut bezel set ring. 
We will have an 8-10mm stone ready for you, or you can bring your own.

TEXTURED SILVER ACCENT BANDS

Have the best time creating three accent bands using various wire profiles and techniques including twisting, stamping, rolling shaping and hammering. This class is excellent as an introduction to metalsmithing if you're new to the craft, but also a fun way to fill in your ring stack with innovative, unique bands of interest.
