Founder and lead instructor, Christina Taylor, has been on a lifelong journey to learn all she can about metalwork and then share it with anyone who will listen. This guiding intention has followed her through coinciding careers in education, small business and jewelry making.
As a novice jeweler, Christina started out working as a production assistant for a fashion line that manufactured brass castings and forged silver. With continued education and fortunate opportunities, she was eventually sitting at a jeweler's bench, setting georgous gemstones and designing custom pieces for one of Portland's favorite jewelry stores, Folia.
Along the way, Christina also served as director for the Science and Art Center in Cartersville, GA. It was there that she honed her teaching skills and went on to develop a personal series of art and metalsmithing classes that she brought to organizations like the Booth Western Art Museum, ArtNightOut, SCAD, Georgia Southern and the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina.
Experienced at navigating jewelerymaking through the eyes of the craftsman, artist and commercial jeweler, Christina brings a wealth of knowledge to all of her students. She is regarded for her patient nature and dedication to student achievement.
Christina has a B.F.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a M.Ed in Art Education from Martha Berry College.
